Roy Fletcher - The Shed Project

Thanks for joining us Roy! So, you're the lead singer of the band 'The Shed Project Tell us a bit about HOW the band started and the name.?

The band was started by me and john in his garden shed hence the name.

How would you describe you're sound?

Easy listening for the masses.

We love the album 'The Curious Mind of a Common Man' you must be buzzing for the reaction the album has had.?

Yes, it's been received really well, it's honest raw and flows really well.

When and why did you first get into Casual culture?

Going to the match at Burnden Park and seeing the older kids wearing Stone Island, Cp Company, Bonneville etc I'm an avid collector of all things Massimo Osti.

In your opinion who/where did casual start?

Early 80s clubs like Liverpool and Aberdeen grafting gear abroad and bringING it back for the lads.

In our opinion the music has always been an important part of Terrace Culture. What would be your favourite tunes for a match day?

Anything that got me pumped up for the day. couldn't wait to get my best clobber on and meet the lad's early doors. I've been to most grounds in the country, but the same crew used to stay on the piss, miss those days.

Favourite band/artist?

The Stone Roses will always be number 1, that debut album is perfection for me, I think waterfall is also the perfect single.

Any bands/artist that you feel are part of Terrace Culture?

Music and football culture has always gone together there are loads of bands.

Any up-and-coming bands you can recommend?

Marseille, Pastel, Matilda Shakes, Jay Tennant, Kace Campbell Absolutely loads out there.

Did you get into the dance music scene in the late 80's/ early 90's?

Yes, absolutely, love dance/rave music old skool like Happy Shopper and Green Shield Stamps.

Right on to a bit about football. Who's your team and how did you first start supporting them?

Bolton Wanderers, supported them all my life, my first game was vs Bury on boxing day 1986 at burnden park.

Sum up your teams season so far?

We are still rebuilding but the manager is doing a great job.

Do you still attend games regularly?

not as much as I should.... time, work AND music gets in the way.

Which club traditionally are your biggest rivals?

Wigan, Blackburn, Man U.

What's your opinion on your current owners?

Doing a smashing job and really care about the club.

A lot of fans have been drawn towards lower/non-league football recently. Anyone else you follow?

Only Bolton Wanderers you should always follow your hometown club.

Any views on this year's World Cup in Qatar?

I'll watch it but the games more about money and political crap.

Sum up Modern football in one sentence.?

It's taking the common man/woman out of the game, absolute shite!

Finally, what's next for 'The Shed Project '?

More gigs, more singles AND album 2 coming along nicely.
